According to the beliefs of Muslims, the Kaaba or the name of the first Bakkah once scouted by the Prophet Adam. And then continued at the time of Prophet Ibrahim together with his son, Prophet Ismail who raised foundation – the basis of the Kaaba, and simultaneously build a mosque around the Kaaba. Kaaba is located approximately in the middle of the Grand Mosque of masjidil haram,  height fifteen cubits; large stone cube shape. [1].

Further expansion of the Grand Mosque began in 638 when Caliph Umar bin Khattab, by buying houses around the Kabah and demolished for the purpose of expansion, and then resumed again at the time of Caliph Uthman bin Affan around the year 647 AD

According to the hadeeth, one-time prayers at the Grand Mosque is 100,000 times prayers in other mosques except the Prophet’s Mosque and the Aqsa Mosque. One-time prayers at the Prophet’s Mosque equal to 1,000 times prayers in other mosques except the Sacred Mosque and the Aqsa Mosque. The one-time prayers at the Aqsa Mosque equal to 250 times the prayers in other mosques except the Sacred Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque ..

The whole Muslims are commanded to turn his head / heart towards the masjidil haram wherever located, where is kabah placed it is strengthened by the sura al-Baqarah verse 149 and 150. This command is almost the same level with others as God commands that perform the prayer, zakat, fasting, pilgrimage as a form of heart and mind that is bound to God in all things of this world.
